You Would Think (DC UNIVERSE)

Batman's eyes narrowed as he watched the monitors. Multiple were occupied by different angles of an earlier mission. He, of course, hadn't been part of it having been busy with his own problems down in Gotham, but as one of the founding members it was his duty to review every mission as to be up to date with various occurrences and information.

"You're getting slow in your old age, Clark" he stated in a teasing tone, knowing only the Kryptonian would hear him and seek him out to give a response. He could use a bit of friendly company after the day he had had.

The younger hero was at side his side withing ten seconds. He huffed and crossed his arms.
"I'm not getting slow." Clark huffed again and started to pout.
"Besides you're older than me. By Earth standards and Kryptonian."
The Kryptonian male tilted his head as he turned to the monitors.
"Anything interesting?"

"Invulnerability or not you still haven't learned to cover your back. Diana covered you at least half a dozen times. Send her a thank you card or a gift card to get a nice steak or something." Batman stated. "Should I assume you're busy this weekend? I know you aren't on duty for the league."

He leaned forward to pause the screens for a moment to study something, only to play it again a moment later.

Clark's cheeks were tinting pink as he looked away from the monitors.
"I didn't need her to protect him. I really don't need anyone protecting me. I should be protecting all of you. And I am free this weekend. I accumulated some vacation days and I have to use some of them before the end of the year. Why do you ask?"

"There is... a function, if you would like to attend with me. As my Date." Bruce stated "You don't have to if you don't want to." He paused all the screens this time, turning to look at him. "All the boys will be attending as well."

Clark let out a quiet sigh and frowned again.
"I wish I was publicly dating you as Clark Kent, not Superman. But I will attend the event with you, my love."

Bruce pulled his cowl down. "You're not even going to ask about the event?" he asked "Or why all of my boys will be there? That includes Jason you know."

Clark stuck his tongue out at his lover.
"I was getting to that. So, what is it? What's it for? Why are all the boys going? Are the girls attending as well?"

"Only Stephanie. We're unveiling the new children's hospital and the boys and Stephanie will be around visiting the children as they are transferred in under the guise of being costumed entertainers to cheer up the children. Except Jason. Jason has sent in a notice to the Gotham PD saying he was going to see the children he helped to get the help they needed and to stay out of his way. Gordon is turning a blind eye to it since he knows what it will mean to the children." Bruce explained. "You aren't expected to come, but I know you make it a point to visit children's hospitals when you can. I thought you might like to come anyway"

Clark was grinning as he nodded.
"Of course. Anything to put a smile on a child's face! I can ask Kon-El to come as well. I bet that would make Tim happy."

"Why not have him bring Krypto? Didn't you have him cleared as a therapy animal?" Bruce smiled. "I was considering asking a favor from the favorites in the league, but you're the only one I really wanted there with me"

Clark nodded at him. "One hundred percent certified now! Are the kids bringing dates?"

"I hardly think they'll be able to in costume." Bruce replied "They're going to be posing as actors playing as them. I don't know what Jason is doing."

"Fair enough."
Clark cracked his neck and sighed. "Am I going to the manor tonight?"

"Do you want to? The boys are probably already starting on patrol" Bruce replied

"Only if you will be there at some point. I would like to spend some time with you. Alone."

"I hadn't planned on patrolling once I got off monitor duty" Bruce stated. "So you'll have at least a few hours to have your wicked way with me." he teased.

Clark grinned at him. "Oh really now?"

"Unless you count Alfred and Titus" Bruce shrugged.

"And I don't."
Clark hummed as he wrapped his arms around the slightly shorter male's waist.
"I love you."

"I love you too. I have another half hour if you want to head down to metropolis first for some things" Bruce stated

Clark shook his head. "I don't need to. I have enough things at the mansion. Do you need anything?"

"Not at the moment." Bruce smiled slightly. "But I will need a shower before anything else."

Clark made an eager noise. "Me too. I need a shower. We should just do it together. Shower, I mean. To conserve water. And we'll both have hot water."

"Clark, I reek of sweat and Kevlar." Bruce stated with a raised brow "And you are extremely transparent."
